I've reimagined Aruba's Carnival costumes to serve as powerful symbols of environmental advocacy– incorporating elements inspired by our island's rich biodiversity and the pressing issues it faces, such as the depletion of natural resources and over-construction.
These costumes feature symbolic representations of native bird species like the Aruban Burrowing Owl and the Prikichi, by wearing these thought-provoking costumes during Carnival festivities, participants not only celebrate our culture but also become ambassadors for environmental conservation, raising awareness and inspiring action to safeguard Aruba's natural heritage for future generations.
